Ayo Adejumobi

Pastor Ayo was born in Lagos, Nigeria, and studied philosophy at the Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU), Nigeria, and the University of Alberta, Canada. He is married to Pastor Ekaete Adejumobi, with whom he co-pastors Rhema Chapel and they are blessed with four children.

Pastor Ayo arrived in Canada in 2003 to further his studies at the University of Alberta and with a firm plan to head back to Nigeria 4-5 years later. Little did he knows that God had a plan and purpose for the journey. God used him to start Rhema Chapel, the first parish of RCCG in Edmonton and has since been the parish pastor. He is dedicated to the full-time service of nurturing and challenging believers to a life of holiness and submission to the Lord.

He is very passionate about Godly family living and helping people realize their potentials as they walk in the fullness of God’s purpose for their lives. He is also actively involved in prison ministry outreach and has an undying passion for propagating the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Pastor Ayo’s favorite sport is soccer, and he usually unwinds playing FIFA with his boys. His favorite bible passage is Psalms 1:1-3.

He is currently the Pastor in Charge of RCCG North American Region 7 Province 2, and in this role provides leadership for several parish pastors in the province. He is also the Special Assistant to the Continental Overseer – The Americas, in charge of Young Adults and Singles Ministry (YASM) – Canada.

Pastor, Rhema Children Ministry

Ekaete Adejumobi

Ekaete is the wife of Pastor Ayo Adejumobi, the Senior Pastor of Rhema Chapel. A Registered Nurse with a Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing from The University of Calgary. She works with the Alberta Health Services and oversees the women and children ministries of Rhema Chapel amongst others. She encountered Jesus at a young age and she is passionate about the Children Ministry. She desires to see Jesus Christ being formed in the hearts of the children. Her philosophy is “When you take a child’s hand you take the mother’s heart” – Danish Proverb. Meaning children can also be the bridge for their parent’s salvation. She believes that if a child encounters Jesus Christ for herself/himself at a young age, the church, the family and the society are secured.

She is never bored, there is always something to keep her going. Her goal is to know more of God and live a life of impact that points others to Jesus Christ. Her hobbies include – Baking and cooking, she also loves nature.

Lanre Ajanaku

Lanre Ajanaku is a teacher of the New Testament reality of the Word. He received Christ in October 1986 and has been sharing the gospel of Jesus Christ actively in faith for over 30 years in different cities.

He is committed to teaching the revelational Word of God with simplicity, applicable to life situation and absolute authority that comes from our redeemed position in Christ. 

He doubles as the Executive Pastor and Associate Pastor in charge of Learning and Spiritual Development at Rhema Chapel. 

Aside from being a preacher and an Entrepreneur, he holds a Masters degree in Finance with a Bachelors degree in Economics with professional experience in the financial and Supply Chain world in Nigeria and Canada.

Lanre loves sports with favourite sport being soccer.  He spends is relaxing time with family and friends, listening to good music, listening to preferably inspiring faith filled messages and reading.

His favourite scripture is Phil 4:8 finally, brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy- meditate on these things.

He is married and blessed with Godly Seeds.

Idowu Adeoye

Idowu Adeoye’s passion has been how to make Christ known and felt by people around him. His background as a Professor and University lecturer for over two decades has helped him to cultivate the habit of using simple words rather than semantics to communicate the gospel message to both young and old alike. Idowu and his dear wife, Elizabeth, both share a burning passion for building godly homes. Together with his wife, they have counselled and prayed with troubled couples with outstanding testimonies to show. In their spare time, Idowu and Elizabeth love to take walks together in their neighbourhood. They enjoy travelling and exploring other Canadian provinces.

Associate Pastor, Infrastructure Support

Idowu Talabi

Idowu was born in Lagos, Nigeria. He is a family man, married to Oluwatoyin for over 36 years and blessed with three sons, five grandchildren and counting. Idowu has a passion for caring and helping people to succeed in any areas they choose and see their lives transformed irrespective of their past. He is an ardent prayer warrior who is passionate about intercession.

Idowu has been in ministry since 1998 starting as a worker to being a consecrated minister (2001). He was ordained in The Redeemed Christion Church of God (RCCG) as a Deacon (Nigeria, 2004), Assistant Pastor (England, 2012) and Pastor (Canada,2021). Idowu has pastored parishes of RCCG in Nigeria, United Kingdom and is currently serving as an Associate Pastor in Rhema Chapel. Idowu is a graduate of the School of Disciples (RCCG) and holds a Diploma from the RCCG Bible College. He is an IT Specialist with over 40 years of experience with an MBA (Information Technology). Idowu is an ardent Lawn Tennis and football fan. He loves to listen to Gospel music and watching war movies.

Associate Pastor, People Facing and Soul Winning (B) Ministries

Olakunle Taiwo

Olakunle Taiwo grew up in Lagos and relocated to Canada a few years ago. He is married to Adeyinka, and they are blessed with a daughter, Praise. He currently serves as Associate Pastor, People Facing & Soul Winning B, overseeing the Ushering, Greeters, Holy Police and Protocol departments of Rhema Chapel. He also served as SOD Zonal Coordinator and HOD Sunday School Department in the past.

He is very passionate about extending God’s love to the neglected and unwanted people in society. Hence, he is actively involved in prison evangelism in Edmonton and surrounding areas as well as outreach to native communities in Alberta. He is a board member of Malachi Dads Ministry Canada and previously served as a board member of the Chappelle Home Owners Association.

Olakunle obtained a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Ibadan and a master’s degree in Petroleum Engineering from the University of Alberta. He is a registered professional engineer in the province of Alberta. He enjoys watching documentaries and sports. His favourite sports teams are Golden State Warriors, Los Angeles Lakers and FC Barcelona.

Tunde Obasan

Tunde Obasan was born in Nigeria and moved to Canada in January 2012 with his wife Suzan and their four children. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, a Master’s degree in Finance, and a successful career in accounting and finance. He earned the Chartered Professional Accountant, Certified General Accountant (CPA, CGA), Certified Internal Auditor (CIA), Project Management Professional (PMP), and Certified Information Systems Auditor designations (CISA) among others.

He has always been passionate about his faith in Jesus Christ, which led him to serve in various capacities at different Churches for over three decades. Tunde joined the Rhema team in 2012 as a member of the accounting team, became the Head of Finance later in 2014, and an Associate Pastor in 2020.

He has also volunteered at various charities, including the Rhema Food Bank, the Edmonton Mennonite Centre, ASSIST Community Services Centre, United Way of Edmonton, and his local community league. On his own time, Tunde enjoys spending time with his family, playing chess and watching movies.

Uno Okon

Uno Okon is a man on fire fuelled by a personal mission of continuous and progressive pursuit of Christ-Likeness. His goal is to live a life fuelled by deep compassion for people; to live as a great light by making selfless contributions that empower and inspire his destiny audience to reach their God-given potential. He strongly believes that selfless service and the intentional outpouring of his life as a blessing to others is the pathway to significance in life and true leadership. Uno Okon is a registered professional engineer; holds a Master’s degree in Engineering Management from the University of Alberta, a Bachelor’s in Electrical Electronics Engineering and a host of IT certifications.

At Rhema Chapel, he currently serves as the Associate Pastor of Stage, Communications and Media, where he provides oversight for the Choir, Technical, eNews, Multimedia and Drama departments. Prior to this role, he served as President of the Men’s Fellowship and the Pastor of the Young Adults Ministry.

At the corporate marketplace, Uno Okon is a Cybersecurity Enthusiast. He is a leading expert in Operational Technology (OT) Cybersecurity with a track record of leading the successful delivery of cybersecurity projects across utilities, mining, oil and gas sectors.

Uno Okon is happily married to his best friend, Olapeju Okon, and are together blessed with two children. He likes exploring Edmonton’s beautiful bike trails with his son and enjoys hosting friends to meals from his mobile Broil King BBQ grill.

Olabisi Rebecca Shittu

Olabisi Rebecca Shittu’s greatest strength is in motivating and helping others to identify their gifts and develop these gifts to their full potential. She gave her life to Jesus Christ early in life, joined the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), and has been using her talents to serve God in different capacities.
Rebecca is a teacher and an administrator with degrees in English and Business Administration. She currently serves as a Pastor teaching in the School of Disciples, RCCG Rhema Chapel, Edmonton under the leadership of Senior Pastor Ayo Adejumobi. She is married to Samuel Shittu and they are both blessed with two children.

Personal Assistant to the Senior Pastor

Adetoyese Oyedun

Adetoyese Oyedun, fondly called “Doctor Toye”, was born and raised in Ibadan, Southwest Nigeria. He received his bachelor’s in Industrial Chemistry from the Federal University of Technology, Akure, Nigeria. He went on to get an MSc with DIC in Advanced Chemical Engineering with Process Systems Engineering from the Imperial College of London, United Kingdom, and a Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering with Energy Concentrations from the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology. He is a professional Chemical Engineer and works as a Senior Project Manager.

Adetoyese currently serves at Rhema Chapel in the capacity of the Personal Assistant to the Senior Pastor. Before this, he served in various roles, including serving as the President of Men’s Fellowship (2015 – 2020), where he touched the lives of many men and their families. He continues to pursue his passion as a Sunday school teacher and an ardent drama evangelist. His foremost heart desire is that all people would be empowered to live God’s purpose for their lives to the fullest, and he is committed to doing his part in making that happens.

Adetoyese interests include reading and soccer; he is also a passionate supporter of Chelsea football club. Adetoyese is married to his beautiful wife, Adekiitan, and blessed with two sons, Ademide and Ademidun.
