For us to hear God, we must eliminate distractions. It is not enough to have a quiet outward disposition, it is important to have a quiet spirit. Avoid crowded and noisy mind. Be still, be quiet. Guard against wandering in the mind. A focused mind is a stable mind. Allow the Holy Spirit to stabilize and guard your mind. Many people genuinely want hear God, but they have not learnt the act of being quiet in their spirit. Hence, God cannot get their attention. Our ability to be quiet and listen speaks volume to our readiness to hear God.
Prov. 4:20 “Listen carefully my dear child to everything that I teach you, and pay attention to all that I have to say”.
